Do Good

Do Good – Do GOBA!
Our mission says it all: GOBA was created in 1989 to organize a yearly one-week bicycle vacation, in order to inspire independence and nurture personal growth, to learn about Ohio, its people, geography and history, to provide inter-generational recreation, to enhance the image of bicycling in Ohio, and to raise funds for bicycle-related projects in Ohio.

Ride with a purpose. Since the beginning, a portion of GOBA proceeds have gone into our Columbus Outdoor Pursuits Bicycle Development Fund which provides grants to bicycle-related projects across Ohio.

Besides the proceeds from your registration fees, you can maximize the good works by adding a donation along with your GOBA registration. Columbus Outdoor Pursuits has 501(c)(3) status. Contributions are tax deductible and you will receive an acknowledgement.

◆ Make your donation check payable to: Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure.
◆ Mail to: 27 E Home St, Westerville, OH 43081

One of our recent beneficiaries has been the Bike Lady, Inc. Based in Columbus, Ohio, Bike Lady is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer charitable organization providing new bikes to central Ohio foster children during the December holidays. Recipients all have a history of abuse, neglect or abandonment and otherwise might never receive a new bike. Visit bikelady.org for details.

Also, as you bicycle around Ohio, you see another example of your GOBA dollars at work in The Ohio to Erie Trail, a continuous off-road trail from Cincinnati to Cleveland, which is nearly complete. See ohiotoerietrail.org.

By registering for and riding GOBA, you are promoting bicycling in all the best ways across the state.
