Update 05/05/2017:  We are having some issues with registration confirmation emails being flagged as spam email.  If you do not get a confirmation email, please check your spam folder.  Due to this issue, we are keeping the registration fee at $300 and not $325 through regular registration closing.  If you have difficulty completing payment online, just print a copy of your registration application and send with your fee to the GOBA post office box address below.

GOBA 2017 Registration is limited to the first 1,500 registrants. Registration deadline is May 17, 2017, or when we reach 1,500, whichever comes first.

To reserve your space on GOBA 2017, you can register in one of 2 ways:

–> 1. Online – You can register for GOBA 2017 online, using our secure server. Online registration accepts MasterCard, Visa, or Discover (credit or debit), and you can register multiple participants with one payment.

–> 2. By Mail – If you prefer to register by mail, download and print a copy of the registration form [interactive pdf file]. This form can also be found in the 2017 GOBA brochure available by mail in January or in bicycle shops around Ohio in the spring. Acceptable payment is by check or money order, payable to GOBA, only in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank.

Note that if you register by mail, you can pay for multiple registrations with one check, but you must include a separate registration form and signed waiver for each participant.

Deadlines For Registration
5 pm EDT, Wednesday, May 17, 2017, or when we reach our limit of 1,500 riders, whichever comes first.
Online registration will close promptly at that time, and any mailed-in registrations must reach us before that time. When mailing, please ensure all waivers are signed and the fees are fully paid with a signed check or money order. Last-minute registrants may want to consider using FedEx or similar express delivery method, to ensure that the forms reach us in time.

Cancellations/Refunds: Postmark by May 17, 2017. Refund requests must be sent in writing by certified mail and postmarked by May 17, 2017. Refunds will be granted up to that date, minus a $49 processing fee. No refunds after May 17, 2017, for any reason.
Car Camper Pass: Your registration already includes parking your vehicle for free all week long in Findlay. This pass is for those participants who wish to bring their vehicle along each day into the other GOBA campgrounds. The Car Camper Fee is in addition to the registration fee. The driver and all occupants will need to register, and pay the registration fee for all and one Car Camper fee for the vehicle. The Car Camper pass is only valid in a particular camp for the one or 2 nights that GOBA is camping there. Please see Car Camper Policies and Procedures and vehicle requirements before choosing this option.

Transfer of Registration: You may transfer your registration to another person, only following these procedures: Original registrant sends to GOBA a certified letter stating the transfer of 2017 registration with name and address of new registrant (see bottom of this page for GOBA address). Enclose with the letter – a completely filled out registration form and waiver (by the new registrant) along with a check for the $15.00 transfer fee.

Deadline to transfer registration: June 7, 2017 (received by date, not postmark). If transfer materials are received by May 17, 2017, a full confirmation packet will be mailed to the new registrant. After that date, the new registrant will receive rider number in an emailed confirmation only. Sorry, this procedure cannot be done using our online registration. Please note, transfer request may be denied and the check returned if all procedures have not been followed.

Merchandise – Order when you register or afterward Your registration form includes options to order 2017 GOBA T-shirts, the 2017 GOBA Jerseys, and the Photodisk from GOBA 2017 when you register. These items are also available for purchasing separately. See the Merchandise page for more information. Note that T-shirt and jersey availability are not assured after April 15.

Raffle-Donation for Special Rider Numbers In honor of our 29th year, catch the fun by vying for Rider #29 or #2017!
Here’s how you can enter to win.Rider #2017 Submit your registration postmarked by December 31st – that’s it! You will be automatically entered and there is no additional cost.Rider #29 Look for this option on your registration form. Register by April 15 and include your nonrefundable donations at $5.00 each. Winner receives a prize package worth more than $350! Buying more chances = more chances to win! The package includes:

  • Free 2017 registration (we’ll refund your fee if you win)
  • A massage during GOBA week
  • 2017 Photodisk
  • An exclusive GOBA-2017 unisex short sleeve jersey

Donations for the raffle go directly to the Bicycle Development Fund to benefit Ohio bicycle-related projects. Drawings will be held in the GOBA office. Both winners will be notified within 4 weeks of the contest closings. GOBA will then void out the winners’ original rider number and will re-issue the new GOBA-29 or 2017 number.

After you register If you register online, you will receive an acknowledgement email with links to other forms you need to complete or options that you can reserve separately. Please read the email carefully.

All registrants will receive a mailed confirmation with rider numbers for everyone in your household. Allow 2-4 weeks to receive your confirmation packet in the mail and open it immediately. You will need to complete medical information forms and mail them back as soon as possible. Car campers will have an additional form to complete and send back.

You will also receive in the mail before the tour: March, May, and June newsletters, and T-shirt and jersey (if ordered). Directions to Findlay will be in the June Newsletter. Your rider packet (with wristband, rider map [if requested], tour patch, etc.) will be at check-in in Findlay. In late fall, after the tour, you will receive (one per household) the full-color GOBA calendar with photos from the previous June’s tour.

Any costs associated with the following options are at your own expense.

Residence Halls for 2017: A limited number of rooms in RESIDENCE HALLS will be available exclusively for GOBA participants 2 nights of the week. Click on the link to read the description, costs, and reservation details. Reservations for dorms are handled separately. See details on Lodging page.

Columbus Outdoor Pursuits Membership: You too can become a member of Columbus Outdoor Pursuits and enjoy outdoor activities all year long. The Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure is owned and organized by Columbus Outdoor Pursuits, a volunteer-based, non-profit organization, providing opportunities and education for outdoor recreation and activities. All registrations are for the entire week–no partial-week registrations. All participants must register, whether or not they are bicycling. Each registrant must agree with and sign the Liability Waiver, Indemnification Agreement, Permission to Provide Medical Treatment and Publicity Release (custodial parent or legal guardian signs for entrants under 18). Registrations are not accepted without payment. Incomplete or improperly filled-out applications will be returned without being processed.

Age restrictions In order to be a GOBA participant who rides on or is pulled by a bicycle, a child must reach their 2nd birthday by June 17, 2017. Note the age restriction does not apply to registered children in a car, accompanying other registered riders. Also be advised, GOBA volunteer support vehicles do not carry child safety seats.
