Take the last train to GOBAville! What better way to end your GOBA week than to take a relaxing 1-hour train ride. To add to the fun, your ticket price includes a shoulder massage during the ride, by our very own GOBA Massage Therapists. And a GOBA host will be with you in each coach, recounting stories and memories of GOBA-20.
You will ride on the Lorain & West Virginia Railway, operated by volunteers for the Lake Shore Railway. The excursion is 12 miles round-trip and scenery includes wooded areas, a bridge over the Black River, and rich Lorain County farmland.
Departure time is 12:30 pm, at the Main Gate of the Lorain Co. Fairgrounds, your Sat., 6/21, final biking destination. Boarding begins at 12:00 noon.
Train tickets are $9.00 if ordered before June 10 (see ordering information below), $11.00 if bought in-camp during GOBA week. To purchase in camp, see the T-shirt vendors, Phil & Valerie Alloy. In-camp sales end Friday night.
You need to eat lunch anyway, so eat it on the train! Offered by Main Street Wellington, Inc., lunch can be pre-ordered, and it will be ready to go near the boarding site. Menu is: sandwich (choose: ham + cheese or turkey + cheese), chips, apple, cookie, beverage. Cost: $6.00. Please note, lunch tickets will not be sold after Wednesday, 6/18.
(Other food will also be available for sale at the Fairgrounds.)
Download the registration form (pdf file), complete it, and mail it with a check to the address shown on the form. Your tickets & boarding information will be included in your registration packet, which you will pick up at GOBA check-in.
Hurry and reserve now. Deadline for early registration is June 10, 2008 (we must receive your paid registration by this date). Orders are taken first come, first served and seats are limited. Please note, the tickets are non-refundable.
Tickets can only be purchased through GOBA; they are not being sold by the Railroad Society. The train is a smoke free environment and is not handicap accessible.
